BREAST CANCER PROGNOSIS METHOD Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G01N33/574

Abstract RU 2748716 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used to determine the prognosis of breast cancer in the early stages of the disease (stages T1, T2, N0). A method for predicting breast cancer includes an immunocytochemical study of a histological preparation made from a tumor tissue selected from a patient, during which the level of expression of the FOXA1 protein in tumor cells is determined by carrying out a reaction specific for said protein with an antibody that causes it to stain, the number of cells with stained nuclei is determined, and assess it in points on the Allred scale from the range of values from 0 to 5 points, determine the intensity of cell staining and evaluate it in points on the Allred scale from the range of values from 0 to 3 points, then determine the total score, the value of which is used as a parameter for the prognostic assessment, and to determine the parameter of the prognostic assessment, equipment is used that is capable of obtaining a digital (virtual) microscopic image of a histological specimen, processing and analyzing the image, equipped with a software package that provides counting the number of cells with stained nuclei, assessing the intensity of their color and calculating the total score, and with a value of this parameter from 4 to 8 points, the prognosis is assessed as favorable, while the patient's survival rate of 10 years or more is considered a favorable prognosis.

EFFECT: invention provides an expansion of the arsenal of methods for predicting breast cancer.
