The device comprises a control housing and a cartridge formed by an outer housing and designed to be connected to the control housing. The device has a mouthpiece that interacts with the outer casing. The device includes a heating element located inside the outer casing. The device contains a single component of the reservoir and the liquid transporting element located inside the outer casing and containing a composite porous monolith located next to the heating element. The single component of the reservoir and the liquid transporting element is one piece and is designed to store the aerosol precursor composition and transport it to the heating element. A single component of the reservoir and liquid transport element forms a channel through them. The device includes an electronic component placed in a channel. The method includes providing a single component of the reservoir and liquid transporting element, storing the aerosol precursor composition in a single component of the reservoir and liquid transporting element and placing the electronic component in the channel, as well as evaporating the aerosol precursor composition in a single component of the reservoir and liquid transporting element to form steam for delivery through mouthpiece that interacts with the outer casing.
