FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to obtain one-piece vacuum-tight joints when sealing membranes from palladium alloys with rare-earth metals in the design of filter elements for deep purification of hydrogen. After cleaning the surfaces to be joined, a package is assembled containing stainless steel parts, an intermediate layer and palladium alloy foil membranes. The assembly is positioned between the resistance roller welding electrodes and welding is carried out by passing welding current pulses and applying a compression pressure. Nickel foil is used as an intermediate layer between stainless steel and palladium alloy. A nickel foil is also placed on a palladium alloy membrane. The transmission of welding current pulses is carried out with constantly compressed electrodes for the time required to connect the elements with overlapping welded points of 20-25%, while welding is carried out in a shielding gas environment.
EFFECT: use of this method makes it possible to obtain an equal-strength vacuum-tight joint of stainless steel with Pd-REM alloys, having strength at the level of strength of palladium alloys, and to increase the productivity of the process by reducing the contact time when welding parts.
