FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for submerged arc welding. Flux contains slag from the production of silico-manganese, including silica, alumina, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, manganese oxide, iron oxide, and flux additive in the following ratio, wt. %: slag production of silico-manganese 10–90, flux-additive 10–90. Flux additive consists of dust gas cleaning production of silico-manganese in the amount of 59–67 wt. % and liquid glass in the amount of 33–41 wt. %.
EFFECT: flux reduces the contamination of steel with non-metallic inclusions and carbon monoxide alloying elements during welding and surfacing, as well as reducing the cost of flux production and welding process due to the effective utilization of fine-dispersed gas cleaning dust from the production of silicomanganese.
