FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in submerged arc welding. Flux includes slag production of silicomanganese, containing silica, alumina, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, manganese oxide, iron oxide, and a flux additive consisting of pulverized ladle slag from rail steel production in the amount of 60.0–64.0 wt.% and liquid glass in the amount of 36.0–40.0 wt.%. Components of the flux are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: slag production of silico-manganese 50–95, flux-additive 5–50.

EFFECT: flux reduces the contamination of steel with non-metallic inclusions, reduces the loss of alloying elements during welding and welding, increases the hardness of the weld layer and increases its wear resistance.
