FIELD: welding technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fluxes intended for electric arc mechanized welding and surfacing of steels. The flux is obtained from silica manganese slag containing components in the following ratio, wt. %: silicon dioxide 18-47, aluminum oxide 3-27, calcium oxide 9-28, calcium fluoride 0.1-1.6, magnesium oxide 0.3-8.9, manganese oxide 1-13, iron oxide 0.1-1.5, carbon 0.01-0.9, titanium oxide 0.01-0.6, chromium oxide 0.01-0.8, sodium oxide 0.01-0.6, potassium oxide 0.01-0.5, barium oxide 0.01-3.0, sulfur no more than 0.40, phosphorus no more than 0.40. The amount of fraction up to 0.45 mm in the flux is up to 5%, the amount of fraction over 0.45 to 2.5 mm is up to 95%, and the amount of fraction from 2.51 to 3.00 mm is up to 1%.
EFFECT: reducing the contamination of steel with non-metallic oxide inclusions, reducing the melting loss of alloying elements during surfacing by reducing the concentration of iron and manganese oxides in the slag system, improving physical and mechanical properties by increasing the refining ability of the flux in the presence of barium oxides in it, as well as improving the surface quality of the deposited roller and weld by stabilization of the arc burning process due to the presence of sodium and potassium oxides in the flux.
