FIELD: heating devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and devices for controlling the temperature profile in the convection section of a heater. Method for controlling the heating of a process fluid includes passing the first part of first gas flow (16) into first channel (12) of first set of channels (12); passing the second part of first gas flow (16) into second channel (14) of first set of channels (14), while second channel (14) is located near first channel (12); mixing the first and second parts of first gas flow (16) in convection section (20a) for heating the process fluid in the pipeline in convection section (20a); and passing the first cooling gas flow into at least one hole (28) between first channel (12) and second channel (14) for providing even gas mixing.
EFFECT: providing effective control of the temperature and more even and constant temperature profile inside of the heater.
