An apparatus for in-line fluid exchange in a biomolecule-containing fluid comprising a mixing means comprising a multi-inlet flow controller further comprising two or more variable flow inlet valves for mixing at least two fluids, wherein the variable flow inlet valves are capable of cycling between the position of reaching a first, relatively low, flow rate, where the liquid retains the ability to flow, or at which flow is prevented, and at least a second, higher flow rate, wherein the mixing means further comprises outlet in fluid communication with a tangential flow filtration device designed to operate in a single-pass mode.

EFFECT: increasing the processing speed, preventing the aggregation of biomolecules.
