FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: hollow granule encapsulating a single cell comprises a polymeric shell and a single cell located inside the polymeric shell, wherein the shell contains pores allowing for diffusion of the reagent through the polymeric shell while simultaneously retaining the single cell. To result in encapsulation of a single cell in a hollow granule, the single cell is mixed with a polymer in a separating oil to form a mixture. The mixture is mixed with a cross-linking oil to form a polymer shell encapsulating a single cell, wherein the polymeric shell comprises pores allowing for diffusion of the reagent through the polymeric shell while simultaneously retaining the single cell. The method for conducting multiple consecutive co-analyses on a single cell is implemented as follows. Said hollow granule is obtained and consecutive contact of a single cell with reagents is executed to conduct multiple consecutive co-assays.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides ability to use a cell for several assays while maintaining the integrity of the cell.
