SUBSTANCE: invention in particular relates to a solid support for nucleic acid sequencing and a method for conducting multiple consecutive collaboratives analyses of individual cells in a population of cells using said support. The said solid support includes multiple hollow granules, each containing a polymer shell and a single cell located within the polymer shell. The polymer shell contains pores that allow for diffusion of the reagent through the polymer shell while retaining a single cell. A solid substrate is a flow cell device, a well plate, a microarray, a microfluidic channel, a glass slide, or a structured surface. To implement this method, the cell population is first contacted with a polymer in a release oil to form a mixture (a). Subsequently, the mixture (a) is mixed with cross-linking oil to form a mass of granules, each granule encapsulating a single cell. Further, individual cells are sequentially contacted within the mass of granules with a reagent to perform a plurality of sequential joint analyses of the cell population. The process is completed by separating the granules on the solid support and modifying the separated granules to allow diffusion of the encapsulated material from the separated granules.
EFFECT: invention allows for multiple assays to be performed while maintaining cell integrity.
