FIELD: electronics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an actuator driven by a motor such as a valve actuator having an integrated battery. An industrial actuator driven by a motor has a protective housing (1), which contains a motor, a control module (3) and a drive (4). The drive (4) is connected between the motor and the driven external device. The device additionally has an input for receiving an external power source and a battery unit (6) located in the specified protective housing electrically connected to selectively drive the engine and electrically connected to an external power source for charging. The control unit (4) is configured to receive data representing the status of the external power supply, receive data representing the state and / or charge status of the battery unit (6), and cause the battery unit (6) to be charged from the external power source when the external power source is defined as valid and present and the battery unit (6) requires charging.
EFFECT: extending battery life, which contributes to increased reliability and safety of the actuator, and slowing down the charging speed when the temperature is above a predetermined threshold.
