FIELD: biotechnology; dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology and dentistry. A method of restoring or inhibiting or protecting or preventing dental erosion, or promoting dental remineralization, comprising applying to a tooth an oral composition containing an antifreeze protein (AFP) in an amount of 0.01 to 3 wt % based on total the weight of the composition, and an orally acceptable carrier. And AFP has a polypeptide sequence according to SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2 or SEQ ID NO: 3, or a polypeptide sequence that occurs as a result of the substitution, introduction or deletion of up to 5% of all amino acids based on the polypeptide sequences according to SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2 or SEQ ID NO: 3, and which still has at least 50% of the biological properties of the original proteins. Also presented are a dentifrice, an oral care composition, an AFP application, an oral care composition for restoring or inhibiting pathological dental erosion or dental remineralization (options), a method for producing an oral care product, and a chewing gum composition.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides effective restoration and mitigation of the effects of pathological dental erosion, promoting dental remineralization.
