SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in the production of electrodes for primary chemical current sources It relates to a method for preparing a positive active mass for lithium thionyl chloride current sources. The method for preparing a positive active mass for lithium thionyl chloride current sources involves mixing the active mass components in a mixer in the following proportion, weight percentage: technical carbon 85-95, fluoroplastic suspension 5-15, at a pressure of at least 20 to 40 kPa, while in the mixer in the presence of ethanol and water (condensate), technical carbon samples are poured into the mixer, fluoroplastic suspension diluted with water (condensate) is poured into the mixer, the components of the active mass are mixed for 4 minutes, the active mass is discharged into a container, at the bottom of which a stand is installed and a bag is enclosed, so that under the influence of gravity, the liquid flows off and is removed from the prepared mass, the mass is kept in the container in order to remove excess water under load for at least 18 hours, the active mass is laid out from the container and thoroughly mixed, briquettes are formed with the dimensions necessary for further technological processes, and the active mass briquettes are dried in a three-chamber electric furnace equipped with a conveyor belt: in the 1st chamber at a temperature of (200±10)°С; in the 2nd chamber at a temperature of (210±10)°С; in the 3rd chamber at a temperature of (100±10) °C, at a speed of the conveyor belt (32.6±0.8) mm/min.

EFFECT: obtaining optimal mechanical characteristics of the active mass, making it possible to attain increased electrical characteristics of the electrodes.
