FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, creation of unmanned gliding-type underwater vehicles with increased autonomy. The underwater glider is comprised of a body and a fairing installed in the nose thereof. A movable acoustic module with a horizontal acoustic sensor, upper and lower acoustic sensors, a float and a weight mounted on a shaft is placed in the fairing. The upper and lower acoustic sensors are installed on a vertical axis at an angle of 90 degrees relative to the axis of the horizontal acoustic sensor and the axis of rotation of the movable acoustic module. The float placed under the upper acoustic sensor and the weight placed above the lower acoustic sensor provide the movable acoustic module with a pendulum momentum stabilising the angular position thereof in space throughout the entire range of operating trims of the underwater glider. The vertical distances to obstacles both above and below the underwater glider, as well as the horizontal distance to obstacles in the water in the direction of movement of the glider are simultaneously estimated.
EFFECT: safety of maneuvering in the water is increased.
