FIELD: biomedical technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biomedical technologies for automatic processing of signals of electrical activity of the brain, and in particular to methods for diagnosing physiological conditions of animals. An electrocorticogram (ECG) signal is recorded and its continuous wavelet transformation is carried out. The instantaneous distribution of the energy of the wavelet spectrum over the time scale is determined in four frequency ranges f1 [2,5-4,5]; f2 [5-10]; f3 [10,5-12,5]; f4 [15-18] Hz. The averaged characteristics of the wavelet spectrum energies , are calculated. Based on the total duration of the ECG time signal, the threshold values ε1, ε2, ε1sw, ε2sw of the averaged characteristics are automatically calculated. The moments of crossing the thresholds ε2, ε1 are found by the characteristic , according to which the moments of the onset of the states of sleep and wakefulness are detected. The moments of crossing the thresholds ε1sw, ε2sw are found by the characteristic , according to which the moments of the beginning and the end of the state of epileptic activity are diagnosed.
EFFECT: expansion of the functionality of the method for automatic diagnostics of physiological conditions (sleep and wakefulness) and pathological activity (epileptic discharges of the "peak-wave" type) is provided on the basis of the mathematical analysis of ECG with acceleration due to the automation of the diagnostic process and increasing the accuracy.
