METHOD FOR SELECTING PATIENTS WITH ACCOMMODATIVE CONVERGENT STRABISMUS FOR KERATOREFRACTIVE SURGERY AGAINST BACKGROUND OF HYPERMETROPIA, ANISOMETROPIA AND MODERATE OR MILD AMBLYOPIA Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B3/08 A61B3/09

Abstract RU 2751815 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: after examination, patients are selected with accommodative convergent strabismus with an angle of divergence of the eyeball less than 20° according to Hirschberg with the maximum corrected visual acuity of 0.2 and higher. A study of the binocular function is performed on a “four-point” color test with glasses correction and accommodation is additionally performed to assess the accommodation function of the eye. Then the selection of soft contact lenses is carried out and after a month of their use with this correction, a second study of the binocular function and accommodation are performed. If the patient’s parameters of the accommodogram are improved, as well as the ability to binocular vision, the deviation angle decreases or disappears, keratorefractive surgery is planned.

EFFECT: method allows the selection of patients with accommodative convergent strabismus for keratorefractive surgery against the background of hypermetropia, anisometropia and moderate or mild amblyopia, and increases the effectiveness of the operation performed in the future, due to the correct functioning of accommodation and the formation of binocular vision in the postoperative period.
