SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry. In the tread pattern of a pneumatic tire, the main groove side portion of the shoulder lug groove located on the first longitudinal main groove side extends obliquely with respect to the tire lateral direction. In each of the first intermediate lug grooves and each of the inner lug grooves, the direction from one side to the other side in the tire lateral direction is inclined with respect to the tire lateral direction to the slope side coinciding with the slope side of the direction from one side to the other side in the tire lateral direction of the section with sides of the main groove. The first intermediate lug grooves overlap with a plurality of continuation lines, each of which is formed from each of the shoulder lug grooves smoothly extending from the closed end of each of the shoulder lug grooves along the direction of inclination of the portion from the side of the main groove to each of the closed ends of the inner lug grooves. The second intermediate lug groove extends between two continuation lines adjacent in a tire circumferential direction in a direction along the continuation lines.
EFFECT: invention improves the noise performance of the tire, while not degrading wet performance.
