FIELD: cartography.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of cartography, processing and displaying of geospatial information, computer means of transformation and visual perception of the obtained image; it can be used for obtaining geospatial information about cartographic objects, when working in the absence of communication for transmitting digital data. A method is proposed, in which, in a personal computer (PC) with general and applied software, initial geospatial data is prepared and processed, the map content and legend is developed by forming generalizing conventional signs and inscriptions by thematic content layers. An autonomous source of geospatial information is created, including a modified map and a mobile user terminal with digital geospatial information about terrain objects equipped with a previously created interface module with functions of receiving, searching and displaying on screen geospatial information about terrain objects. During the process of development of content of the modified map and its legend, when forming conventional signs and inscriptions, they are created without taking in account types and semantic characteristics of terrain objects by developing one generalizing conventional sign per each thematic content layer, including objects of the same type of the map content, as well as the single style of an inscription is developed. During the process of preparing a mathematical base of the map, generalizing, technical compiling the original of the modified map, generalizing conventional signs developed for each thematic content layer are used for painting the background of areal conventional signs with different colors, drawing the contours of areal and linear conventional signs, applying extra-scale conventional signs of point objects. In addition, identifiers of all cartographic terrain objects located on the map are formed and applied on the modified map, wherein the same colors are used as those ones selected for generalizing conventional signs of thematic content layers. Decorating and printing of compiled modified map is performed on a paper carrier. Using the interface module created in PC for each terrain object showed on the modified map, the own set of geospatial information is compiled, including its identifier, semantic characteristics, including typical information corresponding to traditional conventional signs, as well as additional information about individual characteristics of the terrain object, including, if necessary, its coordinates, geometric parameters, a photo, a digital metric three-dimensional model of the object, relief or landscape of the given terrain showed on the created modified map. Using the interface module for PC and the interface module for the mobile user terminal, compiled sets of geospatial information about each terrain object showed on the modified map are transmitted from PC to the mobile user terminal. During the process of use of geospatial information using the autonomous source of geospatial information in an interactive mode in the absence of communication for transmitting digital data, the required terrain object showed by the generalizing conventional sign is visually selected on the modified map, its identifier is visually read, entered in the mobile user terminal, the corresponding set of geospatial information is found by it using the interface module, and all semantic and additional information about the given cartographic terrain object is got on the screen in a visual way or using voice assistance.
EFFECT: increase in readability and information content of the map represented in the analogue form, providing a possibility for precepting a landscape and a terrain showed on the map by horizontal lines or by the washing method, providing inclusion of additional semantic information taking into account features of cartographic objects of the terrain, providing a possibility to automatically obtain information about the object in an autonomous way in places, where networks for transmitting digital data, for example Internet, are absent; one more effect is expanding the consumer structure due to users that do not have special cartographic preparation.
