FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatuses for coupling a semitrailer with a tractor. The fifth wheel apparatus of a road train with a spring shock absorber is comprised of a fifth-wheel baseplate, a mounting plate, two outer, a central and two intermediate supports, compression springs, a longitudinal, relative to the longitudinal axis of the tractor, axis, a body, a bracket attached on the upper outer surface of the body, and sleeves with end flanges. The body is made in form of a cylinder with a longitudinal groove in the lower part thereof and is equipped with internal flanges with holes at the ends, rigidly connected thereto. The longitudinal, relative to the longitudinal axis of the tractor, axis is located inside the body. The sleeves with end flanges and compression springs are installed between the central and the two outer supports on the longitudinal, relative to the longitudinal axis of the tractor, axis.
EFFECT: increased operating efficiency of the compression springs of the fifth wheel apparatus of the road train with a spring shock absorber due to independent operation thereof during both acceleration and braking of the road train and, therefore, increased reliability of the apparatus are achieved.
