SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, particularly to a stapler, and specifically to a handle assembly and a stapler including such handle assembly. The handle assembly for operation of a surgical stapler is comprised of a first handle and a second handle. The first handle is configured to rotate relative to the second handle, and the first and second handles have a disengaged position and an engaged position. When the first handle and the second handle are in the disengaged state and the first handle rotates in a first direction, the second handle does not rotate, and the stapler has a non-operating configuration. When the first handle and the second handle are in the engaged state and the first handle rotates in the first direction, the second handle rotates with the first handle in the first direction to trigger operation of the surgical stapler. The first end of the first handle constitutes a gripping section, the second end of the first handle is rotatably connected to the first end of the second handle. When the second handle rotates in the first direction, the second end of the second handle pushes the staple-pushing rod of the stapler to trigger operation of the surgical stapler. The surgical stapler comprises the described handle assembly.

EFFECT: inventions are characterised by the fact that the first handle can be pressed by the doctor for moving regardless of whether the stapler is ready to operate or not, while the stapler cannot be triggered to operate by a through movement of the first handle through the second handle when the stapler is not ready for operation, and to prevent cracking of the body due to vigorous handle pressing.
