FIELD: cosmetology; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing beta-semi-hydrate powder of calcium sulfate for therapeutic use in cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry as a carrier in pharmaceutical compositions, for example, in a controlled-release composition containing at least one pharmaceutically active ingredient. The method includes the processing of calcium sulfate dihydrate in a closed cabinet with a controlled temperature from above 100 to 220°C for 1-12 hours and processing with air circulation in this cabinet and an adjustable outflow of moist air from the cabinet at a speed of 0.2-1.5 l/s.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce semi-hydrate of calcium sulfate in beta form with high chemical and morphological purity.
