FIELD: forestry engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry engineering, in particular to methods and devices for sowing loose seeds of tree and shrub species in forest nurseries. The method for sowing seeds consists in the fact that cutting the sowing furrow is carried out by cutting out a U-shaped soil layer in the cross section and raising it to form a void above the bottom of the sowing furrow, and covering the seeds, after they are fed into the sowing furrow, is carried out by returning the raised cut soil layer into the sowing furrow under the action of its own gravity, without changing the mutual position of the upper dried and lower moist soil layers and, thereby, covering the seeds with a moist soil layer. The method is carried out by a device that includes a frame, a linkage mechanism, support wheels, a seed hopper, a sowing device, a seed tube, and a coulter. The coulter is made in the form of a U-shaped bracket with vertical side walls and an inclined knife, which is designed to cut the soil layer and lift it above the bottom of the sowing furrow and is installed at an acute angle of entry into the soil. The vertical side walls are equipped with hollow channels in the form of tubes, ending in the lower part with holes for seed exit, which are laid on the bottom of the sowing furrow and sealed with a raised cut layer of soil coming from an inclined knife, and fairings to prevent soil accumulation in front of the hollow channels.

EFFECT: invention allows reducing the energy intensity of the sowing seeds process, simplifying the design of the device for sowing seeds and improving the quality of sowing by embedding the seeds with a wet layer of soil, while excluding contact with the seeds of the upper dried soil layer.
