FIELD: fiber optics devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of application of fiber optics devices, in particular to surface axial nanophotonics (SAN) devices, in which optical microcavities of whispering gallery modes and a system of such microcavities are formed on the outer surface of an optical fiber by controlled change in the local refractive index of the fiber material. A method for restructuring a surface axial nanophotonics device is proposed, in which a control radiation is introduced into the core of the optical fiber, providing heating of the fiber, while the fiber core is made of material with absorption, providing uniform heating along the length of the device.
EFFECT: possibility of tuning the resonances of a microcavity or a set of such microcavities created on the surface of a fiber by an all-optical method (using radiation) without affecting the intensity of nonlinear processes occurring in the microcavity.
