FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used for spectral diagnostics of heavy water in crystalline materials. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that infrared transmission and absorption spectra are recorded for the crystal under study, while the IR spectra of crystals grown in H2O solutions and crystals containing D2O are studied in different directions, along which a number of spectral lines are distinguished and when comparing the values of the absorption coefficient and the position of these lines, diagnostic assessment of heavy water molecules is carried out in the investigated crystalline material.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy, rapidity and reliability of determining the presence of heavy water molecules.
