FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medicine, namely to an antimicrobial agent, which is a product produced by processing an initial polysaccharide selected from a group consisting of carboxymethylcellulose dialdehyde and dextran dialdehyde in an aqueous or water-organic medium with pH in the range from 10 to 14 to obtain a processed polysaccharide with a carbonyl group content from 95 to 20 wt.% relatively to the initial polysaccharide, it also relates to an antimicrobial combination, containing an antimicrobial agent and at least one other antimicrobial agent, the content of which in the combination is from 0.000001 to 50.0 wt.%, it also relates to a method for producing a processed polysaccharide with a carbonyl group content from 95 to 20 wt.% relatively to the initial polysaccharide, including: the stage of pre-processing the initial polysaccharide selected from the group consisting of carboxymethylcellulose dialdehyde and dextran dialdehyde in an aqueous or water-organic medium with pH in the range from 10 to 14 to obtain a processed polysaccharide with a carbonyl group content from 95 to 20 wt.% relatively to the initial polysaccharide, and the subsequent stage of isolation of the resulting product, and it also relates to an antimicrobial composition containing an effective amount of an antimicrobial agent or an antimicrobial combination and pharmaceutically acceptable additives.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for the production of a product with improved physical-chemical and biological characteristics compared to the initial polyphenols and polysaccharides, provides for the production of substances with antiviral activity that have lower levels of cytotoxicity at comparable or higher levels of activity, wherein there are no covalent bonds between the components of the composition consisting of polyphenolic and polysaccharide parts.
