FIELD: dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to methods for quantitative determination of three-dimensional dental displacements by means of digital image correlation. The method is characterised by obtaining an impression and a model of the dental arch of the upper and/or lower jaw. The movement of teeth prior to and during treatment is analysed by means of digital image correlation by measuring the coordinate points of the teeth prior to and after orthodontic correction, accounting for the displacement of the middle points on the vestibular surface of the dental crowns in the transversal, vertical and sagittal directions in the initial and final positions thereof. The displacement or change in the positions of objects is calculated with a measurement accuracy of up to 4 to 5 microns.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of quantitative determination of dental displacements is achieved.
