METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF URINARY INCONTINENCE AFTER RADICAL PROSTATECTOMY IN PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH HIGH- AND VERY HIGH-RISK PROSTATE CANCER Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61H1/00 A61H19/00 A61H15/00

Abstract RU 2755577 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to urology, oncology, and can be used to treat long-term complications in the form of urinary incontinence (UI) after radical prostatectomy (RPE) in patients diagnosed with high- and very high-risk prostate cancer (PC). For this purpose, the patient performs pelvic floor muscle training using a biofeedback device in a given load-time mode. The patient performs periodic contraction and relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles, as well as their long-term contraction with minimal contraction of the gluteus maximus muscle (m. gluteus maximus) and the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall (m. recti abdominals), performing the following exercises: exercise “thresholds”, exercise “steps”; exercise “ball”. At the same time, each exercise is considered to be performed correctly if during its execution the gluteus maximus muscle and the anterior abdominal wall muscle remain inactive, which is reflected by the minimum amplitude of the muscle activity graph on the monitor, and the pelvic muscles contract and unclench with a given amplitude in a given load-time mode. At the same time, the sensitivity of the sensors, the number of repetitions and the rest time between exercises are set individually, depending on the physical capabilities of the patient. The installation of a rectal sensor gives an advantage in the accuracy of recording contractions of the pelvic muscles.

EFFECT: provides improved treatment results, relief of symptoms of UI, reduction of incontinence and improvement of the quality of life of patients with UI without the use of medications.
