FIELD: low-temperature ion nitriding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for low-temperature ion nitriding of a steel product in a glow discharge plasma. The method includes cathode sputtering, vacuum heating of the article in a glow discharge plasma, consisting of a mixture of nitrogen-containing and inert gases. The heating of the product in the glow discharge plasma is carried out at a temperature equal to 450°C, and at the same time the steel product is exposed to ultrasonic waves.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the diffusion rate of the surface of steel parts during low-temperature ion-plasma nitriding, increases the strength, tribological characteristics of the surface, contact durability and wear resistance of steel products.
