FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular to the production of wear-resistant coatings, and can be used to increase the reliability and durability of a wide range of parts. The method for applying a composite coating to a tool steel part includes ionic cleaning of the part in an inert gas environment and the formation of adhesive, transition and functional layers. The processed part made of tool steel with a pre-degreased surface is placed in a vacuum chamber, heated, a pressure of 1⋅10-3-1⋅10-2 Pa is created in the vacuum chamber, ion cleaning is carried out in an inert gas medium with a voltage of 800 V applied to the said part. Then, a diffusion layer is formed on the surface of the part in a nitrogen-containing gas at a voltage of 500-700 V. An adhesive layer of titanium, a transition layer of TiAl and a functional layer of the Ti-Al system consisting of a combination of three layers TiAlC, TiAlO and TiAlN are deposited in an inert gas medium.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the physical and mechanical properties of the part, an improvement in the surface quality and an increase in the service life of the part.
