FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing coating based on Ti-Al system. Coating is synthesized in a gas medium by vacuum-arc deposition from two single-component cathodes of titanium and aluminium, wherein the parts are placed in a working chamber on a table, having previously degreased the surface of the parts. Working pressure of 8⋅10-3–5⋅10-2 Pa. Activation of surface of parts before deposition of coating of Ti-Al system by heating and cleaning in medium of inert gas argon is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, the surface of the parts is heated by a high-current plasma source with a hollow cathode to temperature of 350–400°C. At the second stage surface of parts is heated by electric arc evaporators to temperature of 400–450°C. Thereafter, the first titanium layer is applied, followed by the application of a coating based on aluminium titanium carboxide in a mixture of acetylene and oxygen gases at pressure of 9·10-2–3·10-1 Pa. TiAlCO coating is applied at process assistance with high-current plasma source with hollow cathode with formation of solid phases TiAl, Ti3Al, TiAl3, TiC, TiAlC, Al2O3, TiO2.

EFFECT: higher quality of coating due to use of acetylene and oxygen as working gases and formation of additional solid phases.
