FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used in the manufacture of an investment casting model. A method for obtaining a lost-wax model of a body of revolution includes a metered supply of a powder of a wax-like model composition to a mold in the form of a body of revolution and rotation of the said mold about its vertical axis. The wax-like model composition is a powder of a fraction of at least 0.4 mm. A mold with an inner radius of at least 3 cm is used, which is rotated at a frequency of 6000-15000 rpm. Under the action of centrifugal force, the particles of the powder of the model composition are compacted on the inner surface of the mold without supplying heat, which makes it possible to obtain a model with the required roughness and geometry.
EFFECT: elimination of shrinkage, surface warping and layering of the model is provided, which makes it possible to increase the dimensional and geometric accuracy of castings and the physical and mechanical properties of shell molds.
