FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used in the manufacture of an investment casting pattern. The method for producing an investment model of a body of revolution includes dosed supply of a waxy model material in the form of a powder with a fraction of at least 0.4 mm into a mold with an inner radius of at least 3 cm and its rotation relative to the axis. The mold is rotated until it reaches 3000-4000 rpm, which ensures an increase in the density of the model material, at which it ceases to be loose after the mold rotation stops, and is stopped. A flat spiral spring is placed in the mold, and metal balls up to 12 mm in diameter are placed in its inner part in an amount sufficient to cover the inner surface of the spring at least in one layer, then the mold is rotated at a speed of 3500-4000 rpm. The balls and spring increase the effect of centrifugal force on the model material, due to which it is compacted at a reduced mold rotation speed. Due to the surface of the spring and the uniform distribution of balls along its inner surface, defects in the inner surface of the model are excluded.
EFFECT: elimination of shrinkage, warping of the surface and layering of the model.
