FIELD: space technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space technology, in particular to cathodes-compensators of electric rocket motors (ERM) of electrostatic acceleration type (Hall and ionic type), in particular to electrodeless plasma electron sources with a wave plasma source. The gas discharge chamber has an inner cavity region with a smaller diameter and an inner cavity region with a large diameter, while the end of the gas discharge chamber from the side of the inner cavity with a smaller diameter is hermetically connected to the gas inlet, and the end of the gas discharge chamber from the side of the inner cavity with a large diameter has a hole, open to outer space. On the outer side of the gas discharge chamber, on the side of the inner cavity region with a smaller diameter, there is an antenna having an electric communication line with the RF generator, and a magnetic system having an electric communication line with the power source of the magnetic system. In the inner cavity of the gas discharge chamber, on the side of the region of the inner cavity with a large diameter, there is a collector for collecting ions, which has an electrical connection line with the outer anode.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of using a wide range of working bodies, ensuring the possibility of instantaneous access to the nominal operating mode of the electron source; ensuring stable operation at low powers; increasing the extracted electron current by improving the mechanism for absorbing the power of the high-frequency electromagnetic field by the plasma; increase in the resource of work.
