SUBSTANCE: method for reconstructing image data characterizing initial image data by decoded image data and by parameters obtained from a bit stream contains the check of whether the mentioned parameters are lost, distorted or inconsistent with decoded image data with graphics or overlay inserted on top of them; when at least one of the mentioned parameters is lost, distorted or inconsistent with decoded image data to which graphics or overlay is added, the selection of a restoration mode according to information data indicating how the mentioned parameters are processed; and the restoration of the mentioned at least one lost, distorted or inconsistent parameter by applying the selected restoration mode; and reconstruction of image data based on decoded image data and at least one reconstructed parameter, while the image reconstruction contains at least an inverse brightness display and chromaticity correction.

EFFECT: invention contributes to improving the quality of the reconstructed image by eliminating flickering artifacts and undesirable effects.
