SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of structural elements of portable electronic devices, namely, to elements designed to protect screens of such devices. An electronic device may contain a case, a screen fixed in the case, a protective device for the screen connected to the case, a drive unit, and a controller. The protective device for the screen can be connected to the case, and it is made with the possibility of movement between a pulling state and a retracting state in such a way that, when the protective device for the screen is in the retracting state, the protective device for the screen is flush with or below the screen, and when the protective device for the screen is in the pulling state, the protective device for the screen is above the screen. The controller can be electrically connected to a sensor and it is made with the possibility to control the protective device for the screen to move between the retracting state and the pulling state in response to a sensor output signal.

EFFECT: providing the possibility to protect a screen from touching an object, when the screen of the electronic device approaches the object at a speed exceeding the set value in order to protect the screen from collision with the object.
