FIELD: organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthetic organic chemistry, namely to a method for producing melamine cyanurate in an aqueous medium from cyanuric acid and melamine. The process is carried out in a paddle mixer, with exhaust gases being discharged into a metal container, mixing cyanuric acid and an ammonia buffer solution consisting of an ammonia solution with the addition of ammonium chloride, at pH 9.5-10.9, temperature from 50 to 80°C for 10-30 minutes, followed by the addition of melamine and an increase in temperature to 100-130°C. Next, the temperature is raised to 150-170°C and maintained until the buffer solution is completely removed, then ammonium oxalate is added and the mixture is kept at a temperature of 200-250°C for 30-90 minutes. The molar ratio of the components melamine/cyanuric acid/buffer solution/ammonium oxalate is 1:1-1.5:2.2-5:0.5-2.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain melamine cyanurate using a single technological apparatus, using a minimum amount of water and without wastewater.
