FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of powder metallurgy, in particular, to methods for producing a powder from an orthorhombic intermetallic titanium alloy based on Ti2AlNb. It can be used for producing a powder applicable in powder metallurgy and additive technologies. The method includes production of a fast-quenched fibre from an alloy by the method of extraction of a hanging melt drop, hydrogenation and grinding thereof. According to the first variant, hydrogenation is conducted at a temperature of 800°C to a concentration of at least 1.4% wt. of hydrogen and grinding is conducted for 5 to 30 minutes. According to the second variant, hydrogenation is conducted at a temperature of 800°C for 20 minutes to a concentration of 0.6 to 1.4% wt. of hydrogen, and after grinding, dehydrogenation and additional grinding are conducted.
EFFECT: production of a finely dispersed powder with a particle size of less than 30 mcm, optimal for further use thereof, is ensured.
