SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular to means of preventive control of ship electric power systems (SEPS). The expected result is achieved by the fact that in the proposed method for preventive control of the SEPS with parallel operating generator sets (GS), the moment of transition of the SEPS to an inoperable state is determined, the GS (group of GS) is determined, the load of which decreases, the load of the SEPS is reduced, the moment when the load of all the GS decreases when the load of the SEPS decreases is determined, and at this moment the GS the load of which had been reduced before the load of the SEPS was decreased is turned off.

EFFECT: possibility of preventive control of the SEPS in the event of failures caused by a decrease in the fuel supply to at least one of the parallel operating GS, or failures associated with the failure of the fuel equipment of at least one of these GS.
