SUBSTANCE: area of application: in the field of electric power engineering for the preventive control of the electric power system of a ship. Apparatus comprises generator unit (GU) load sensors according to the number of GUs, load reduction control units, logic elements "AND", GU deactivation units, and a load difference control unit. Additionally included are a unit for identifying the load reduction mode of a single GU and a unit for determining the operating mode of three or more GUs, wherein the output of each of the load reduction control units is linked with the first input of the corresponding logic element "AND" and the corresponding input of the unit for identifying the load reduction mode of a single GU, the output whereof is linked with the second input of each logic element "AND", wherein the output of the unit for determining the operating mode of three or more GUs is linked with the fourth input of each logic element "AND".
EFFECT: eliminated errors in the identification of a non-serviceable unit in the load increase mode that may reduce the accuracy of preventive control of the electric power system of the ship.
