FIELD: image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for image processing. The inverse orthogonal chroma transformation is performed using information about the inverse orthogonal chroma transformation obtained based on information about the inverse orthogonal brightness transformation. For example, information related to the orthogonal transformation includes a flag of adaptive primary transformation indicating, whether adaptive primary transformation should be applied to the processed transformation block with adaptive selection of one of many different orthogonal transformations and using the selected transformation as the primary transformation. The present disclosure may be applied, for example, to an image processing device, an image encoding device, an image decoding device, and so forth.
EFFECT: increase in the coding efficiency.
