FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of applying wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant powder materials onto a substrate using laser emission for increasing the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of parts and assemblies of shut-off valving. The method for laser gas-powder surfacing of a coating with a constant height onto the surface of a metal product includes creating a heating area on the metal surface of the product by a continuous laser beam, supplying a corrosion and erosion-resistant, self-fluxing filler powder thereto coaxially to the laser emission in a protective argon environment, melting said powder, mixing in a diffusion molten bath with the molten base metal of the product, and forming a single roller. After a single roller is formed, the centre of each subsequent roller is positioned at a distance from the centre of the first single roller, wherein b is the width of the first single roller, α is a coefficient depending on the surfacing mode, constituting 0.5<α<0.6, maintaining the temperature of the surfaced roller by means of the associated increase in the output power of laser emission by 5 to 7%.
EFFECT: increase in the quality of the surfaced layer, the uniformity of fusion with the base metal of the product and the erosion resistance of the metal of the part in conditions of cavitation erosion is provided.
