SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for encoding 360-degree video. The first quantization parameter (hereinafter – QP) of brightness is identified for the first domain. The first QP of chromaticity for the first domain can be determined based on the first QP of brightness. The QP displacement is determined for the second domain. The second QP of brightness for the second domain is determined based on the first QP of brightness and the QP displacement for the second domain. The second QP of chromaticity of the second domain is determined based on the first QP of chromaticity and the QP displacement for the second domain. The reverse quantization is performed for the second domain based on the second QP of brightness for the second domain and the second QP of chromaticity for the second domain. The QP displacement can be adapted based on spherical sample density.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of encoding 360-degree video.
