FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring equipment and pertains to a method for determining the transmittance coefficient of a contact lens. The method includes stages wherein the value of a first intensity of electromagnetic emission reflected by the eye surface is obtained using a measuring apparatus. The contact lens is then placed in direct contact with the eye surface and the measured value of a second intensity of electromagnetic emission passing through the contact lens, reflected by the eye surface area covered by the contact lens, is obtained. The transmittance coefficient is calculated based on the measured values of the first intensity and the second intensity.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurement.
