FIELD: energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of energy and is intended for use at nuclear power plants with water-cooled reactors. In the method for increasing the safety and technical and economic efficiency of NPP operation, the main differences are thermal and chemical accumulation of unclaimed electrical energy in the form of hydrogen fuel and hot water during off-peak hours, with the subsequent generation of additional electricity during hours of increased electrical load without changing the flow rate of the working fluid through the main steam turbine installation. In this case, the hydrogen-oxygen steam generator is immersed in the water volume of the hot water tank. There are systems for cooling combustion products, and there is no - mixing water and combustion products.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to accumulate unclaimed electrical energy in the form of hydrogen fuel and hot water at a nuclear power plant during off-peak hours, with the subsequent generation of an additional steam turbine during hours of increased electrical load of additional electricity.
