FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals, namely, to an application of Fe-Fe3O4 (iron-iron oxide) nanoparticles with a core-shell structure, wherein the core is Fe and the shell is Fe3O4, as a means of increasing the sensitivity of bacteria of resistant strains such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureusto antibiotics such as ampicillin and amikacin, in treatment of wounds, wherein the nanoparticles are selected from 1) those with a positive zeta potential in deionised water at a pH of 7.4 and a temperature of 37°C of 9.6±1.8 mV, the value of the specific surface area of 6.7±0.9 m2/g, the content of iron oxide (Fe3O4) of 39 wt.%, and the average particle size of 81±5 nm or 2) those with a positive zeta potential in deionised water at a pH of 7.4 and a temperature of 37°C of 10.4±2.3 mV, the value of the specific surface area of 7.3±0.8 m2/g, the content of iron oxide (Fe3O4) of 92 wt.%, and the average particle size of 78±3 nm.
EFFECT: reduced dosage of the antibiotic, possibility of applying low-toxic antibiotics, increased effectiveness of treatment.
