FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to the production of cast billets from antifriction tin-lead bronzes of the BrO10S2N3 type. The blanks are extruded on a vertical or horizontal hydraulic press by direct pressing at a speed of 1-5 mm/s through a die providing a reduction rate from 2 to 10 using the hot extrusion method. Blanks without preliminary heat treatment are heated up to 500-600°С, and the matrix - up to 450-550°С.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain billets of antifriction bronze free from looseness and porosity for diffusion welding with steel, while the structural components of the alloy are significantly reduced and the uniformity of distribution of eutectic precipitates and the density of the billet are increased.
