FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting of steel. The apparatus for supplying and mixing steel in the crystalliser of a continuous casting unit with a casting ladle (1) and a vertical crystalliser (5) comprises a straight-flow submerged nozzle (2) installed on the casting ladle and a closed-bottom nozzle (3) installed with a gap on the straight-flow submerged nozzle, configured to rotate relative to the latter. The closed-bottom nozzle with a square cross-section and eccentrically arranged output windows (4) is made of ceramics providing a possibility of keeping said nozzle afloat in the liquid steel in the crystalliser, and is equipped with a forced rotation mechanism. When the metal exits the closed-bottom nozzle into the crystalliser, a reactive force is created due to the eccentricity of the output windows, contributing to rotation of the closed-bottom nozzle around the straight-flow nozzle, wherein the rotation speed of the closed-bottom nozzle is control by the engine of the forced rotation mechanism.

EFFECT: increase in the homogeneity of the structure of the resulting ingot is provided.
