FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to determine the duration of the injury that caused post-traumatic hemarthrosis by laboratory examination of the aspirate from the damaged joint. In the aspirate, the concentration of haptoglobin is determined. At a level of its values of 1.66 g/l or more, it is considered that the injury was received 1-3 days ago, and if the value of haptoglobin is less than 1.66 g/l, the injury occurred 4 or more days ago.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the accuracy of determining the timing of the injury that caused post-traumatic hemarthrosis in the patient, by examining the aspiration fluid obtained for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes and determining the concentration of haptoglobin in it by any method, which allows, in a short time, with high accuracy to obtain reliable information about the duration of the injury that caused the hemarthrosis, and make the necessary clinical decision.
