FIELD: glass.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of technology for producing glasses based on heavy metal oxides and pertains to glass compositions usable in optical instrument manufacture. The highly refractive glass for optical instrument manufacture comprises Bi2O3, PbO, Ga2O3, at the following ratio of components, % wt.: Bi2O3+PBO 56.8, Ga2O3 43.2, and at least one of the oxides Al2O3, SiO2 in an amount of 1 to 8% wt. over 100%.
EFFECT: production of a low-temperature glass containing no toxic components and providing a refractive index close to 2.1.
