SUBSTANCE: invention relates to photonics, namely to means of measuring the chemical composition of substances and/or characteristics of absorption/reflection spectra using optical methods. The chemical composition sensor of the substance contains at least one radiation source and at least one radiation photodetector, as well as a waveguide made of a single crystal. At least one of the waveguide surfaces is made in the form of a cleavage plane obtained by chipping a single crystal.

EFFECT: objective of this technical solution is to develop a sensor of the chemical composition of a substance having a reduced size, and therefore an expanded scope of application.
